Description & Distribution 
Rosemary is indigenous to European countries coasting the Mediterranean. It is cultivated in Algeria, France, Germany, Italy, Morocco, Portugal, Rumania, Spain, Tunisia, Turkey, Yugoslavia & USA.

Rosemary is the leaf of a densely branched, small, evergreen aromatic shrub that may grow upto a height of 2 meters. The shrub produces linear, leathery, dark green leaves with light sky-blue flowers. When dry, the leaves have a rolled-up appearance, dark-green to brownish-green color and a tea like fragrance.

Rosemary has an agreeable fragrance, eucalyptus - like aroma with a cooling, camphoraceaous scent when crushed.

Rosemary grows well in light, dry, chalky, well-drained soils with lots of sunlight.Plans are a foot to venture into commercial production in India.

Marketing Season : September to October



Uses
This spice is extremely popular in British & Italian cuisine.

The oil of rosemary forms an ingredient of shampoos, bath essences, deodorants, cosmetics, perfumery and insect repellents.
