Description & Distribution 
Tarragon originates in the Mediterranean. A hardy perennial, densely branched, with flowering tops and dark green leaves, Tarragon is one of the costliest spices in the world.

Jammu & Kashmir & Himachal Pradesh are the major producers of Tarragon in India.

Harvest Season : July to August
Marketing Season : September to October 



Uses
Tarragon goes into the making of 'tarragon vinegar'. It is an essential part of sauces. It forms an ideal combination with salads, and tomato soups, chicken, fish, egg and mushroom dishes. It is used as a flavorant for liquors and in perfumery.



Export
Plans are afoot for production of tarragon on a large scale to meet both domestic and export demand.
